FAQs

What class should I join?

It is a good idea to try different classes to get an idea of the style of movement and teachers you like and is right for you. Vinyasa, Hatha, Thai Boxing classes tend to be the more physically demanding classes, while Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga and the Soundhealing classes are less physically challenging, but work a lot on the mind.

Do I need to be flexible and strong to join one of the classes?

It is a misunderstanding that you have to be flexible or strong to do yoga. We work on many levels including the body, the breath, the mind and the spirit in every class. You will find yourself becoming more flexible and strong as you continue to practice yoga.

What should I do if I’m newly pregnant?

Congratulations! There are many things to consider, now that you are pregnant. There is no clear answer to this question - all cases must be considered individually. Always check in with your body and your baby to see what is right for you. Please tell your teacher before class, that you are pregnant, so that they can adjust the classes for you accordingly. As always, it may be helpful to check with your health care professional and follow their advice.

Do I need a yoga mat?

All the equipment, including mats, you need for class is provided.  If you prefer to bring your own mat that's fine too. If you want to also practice at home then having your own mat is a great idea.

What should I bring to a yoga class?

Just bring yourself, in appropriate clothing (see below), and maybe bring a small bottle of water.

What should I wear for a yoga class?

Some people wear baggy, loose fitting bottoms or shorts and a t shirt. Other people wear tight, stretchy leggings and tops. The only thing that matters is that you wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move and stretch in. It's good to have clothes that keep you cool when you are active in yoga, but to bring a jumper for relaxation, when the body rapidly cools down. Some people also bring socks and a jumper  (maybe even a small blanket) for the relaxation. If you sweat a lot, please bring a small towel. Yoga classes are usually barefoot, so mind the other students and come with no smelly feet!

What is the Thai boxing class like and what do I need to bring along?
The Thai boxing for women class is very beginner friendly and you don‘t need any prior knowledge. Don‘t worry about your cardio level or being extra strong.

We train as a group or do partner workouts to practice basic techniques. But there will also be fun cardio and strength exercises that will make you sweat!

You will need to bring your own boxing gloves and hand wraps (available to buy at Atman Studiotoo). We recommend Size 12OZ boxing gloves. You best wear shorts, but if you feel more comfortable in leggins, thats fine too. And we will train bare foot.

Bring a water bottle, a towel und dry clothes with you. There are no showers at the studio.
